The top economic planner announced on Tuesday that it has cut the prices of gasoline and diesel by 220 yuan ($35.40) and 215 yuan per ton, respectively.
The adjustment will come into effect on Wednesday. The benchmark retail price of gasoline is set to drop by 0.16 yuan per liter and that of diesel will drop by 0.18 yuan.
This is the seventh fuel price cut by the National Development and Reform Commission to reflect moves in international crude oil prices. Crude futures fell to a near 6-month low in July, according to media reports.
